How would you like to work at a world-renowned knowledge institute dedicated to tackling global challenges such as climate change?
What can you expect as a data steward at Deltares?
You are part of our company-wide FAIR data team and jointly develop and implement data management protocols and policies. Your role involves engaging and supporting Deltares colleagues, collaborating with other data stewards, and promoting the use of data according to FAIR principles.
At Deltares, we are known for our innovative research in water and subsurface. This involves a wide range of research topics, including artificial intelligence, applied-physics, software development, and environmental sciences. Data is a crucial asset in all these areas. - Willingness to actively participate in networks of expertise and well-informed about current developments in FAIR and Research Data Management (RDM);
- Knowledge and experience with research software and related workflows, such as version control (Git). Experience as a data-driven researcher, data manager or data steward in science research, in which you have learned how to draw up data management plans and execute these;
- A relevant qualification (BSc or MSc or other) in e.g. information technology, computer sciences or related to data management is an advantage. As is an affinity with geospatial data;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a team-oriented approach, and a curious and analytical mindset are essential.
If you are excited by the opportunity to make a real difference in the field of science research through data management and want to work on innovative projects such as our coastal engineering research, we would love to hear from you. Apply today and join our team at Deltares!
