Are you ready to kickstart your journey as a Data Science student? From August 26th to 28th, D.S.A. Pattern is hosting the official Introduction Camp for all first-year Data Science students! This is your chance to connect with your future classmates, get to know your mentors, and dive into the exciting world of student life.

What Will We Do?

Explore Both Campuses: You'll visit both Tilburg University and the University of Technology Eindhoven, getting a feel for your new academic homes.

Meet Your Mentor: Get introduced to your student mentor who will guide you through your first year.

Fun and Games: Enjoy a mix of activities including giant Twister, an obstacle course, and if the weather’s good, some water games!

Evening Events: There’s something for everyone—whether you’re up for a lively party and cantus or prefer a relaxed board games night.

What’s the Difference Between Intro Camp and Intro Week?

It’s important to note that the Introduction Camp and Intro Week are two different events. While Intro Week is a broader university-wide event, Introduction Camp is specifically designed for first-year Data Science students. It focuses on building connections within your program and getting to know your peers, mentors, and the unique aspects of your study.

24 and 25 May 2024 D.S.A. Pattern will once again participate in the Batavierenrace! The race spans 185 KM 🏃🏃‍♀ from Nijmegen to Enschede and is subdivided into 25 stages from 3 to 11 km, so something for everyone! The location for the study trip has been finally revealed: we will be going to Athens! 🏛️

We cannot tell you too much about the activities that we’re planning yet, but we can guarantee you that it will be the event that you won't want to miss. 🤩

We will be flying to Greece on the 14 of February, and will return to the Netherlands on the 19th. ✈️ There will be university and company visits 📚 , as well as some great cultural and social activities. 🍝 The booklet will be sent out soon, so stay tuned for that! 🔥

The Netherlands is a country full with water bodies 🌊, so it would be to no surprise if you ever got interested in how the delta works of this country actually work and if there is something up for Data Scientists. 📊 Join us on the 11th of January for a trip to Delft where Deltares will host an Inhouse day! Deltares not only works with the data they gather here in NL, but also use their expertise to help countries around the world with keeping delta areas safe, sustainable and habitable. 🛟 During the day you will enjoy a lunch 🥪, a business case, a company tour, nice gifts 🎁 and don't forget the 2(!) MyFuture points! You are expected to be in Delft at 12:00. 🕛

You are welcome at 14:00 to follow a Oeteldonk course (JADS Kapel), if this is your first time celebrating it.

After that, the bar will open at 14:30 where you can start partying 💃🏽🍻 If you buy a Pattern Oeteldonk Emblem (€2,30), Granny will be present from 11:00 to 15:00 to sew it onto your jacket!🧥🪡 (Emblem can be bought at the entrance or online). At the JADS reception there is an option to buy a Oeteldonk Scarf + JADS Emblem for €11,11!

Following the program at JADS, we will move to De Pub where we can continue the party in the city (and get a fried snack for free!) 🎊

After the great success of the Christmas drink hosted in Neuron, EAISI has allowed us to organize one again. Therefore, you are hereby invited to the second official DoMiBo from Pattern in Neuron on Thursday the 1st of February! Come by and have a relaxing chat after your exams, or have a drink to gain courage if you have an upcoming one.

The “Donderdag Middag Borrel” will again be held in Neuron 1.22 and starts at 16:30.

Then look no further! 🤩 On the 30th of January, we are organising a centurion 🍻 During the event, a lot of Tilburg University associations will get together to have a great time and drink every time the buzzer rings, so get ready to meet a lot of new people! It will be 80's themed, so put on your best disco outfit and get ready to party 🕺🏻 The walk-in starts at 20.00 at de Vrienden van Tilburg, but we will start partying at 20:30. Be sure to take your own shot glass, the prettier the better!
