Friday December 8 is Spirit Day, the annual LGBTQ+ awareness day in the Netherlands (Purple Friday). During this day, students of many educational institutions are encouraged to wear the colour purple 💜 in order to show their support for the community. We as D.S.A. Study Trip 2024: We're going to Athens! ✈️🏛️

The location of the next study trip has finally been revealed. The trip will take place from the 14th to the 19th of February, and we are flying to Athens! 🗺️ As a committee, we are planning some great activities to do together, while also organizing trips to companies and universities to explore opportunities outside of the Netherlands. 🌍

We cannot tell you too much yet, but we are flying from and to Eindhoven, and we will be staying in a hostel (a girls-only room can be arranged). 🏨

We have 26 spots, which means that there will be a selection procedure if the number of sign-ups exceeds this. We will make sure it is as fair as possible! 🤝

Note: The event will take place in Dutch and you must arrange your own transport for the entire day (to Tilburg, from Tilburg to Eindhoven and back home). At the university of technology that TU/e is, we sometimes miss a little creativity and fantasy. Have you always wanted to share your crazy ideas, bring out your figments of imagination, and do you love to be behind a camera and capture fantastic things with it? Then this is your event! People from different FSE photography committees have bundled their powers to set up TU/e’s first photo competition: Picture Perfect!

There are 5 separate categories you can choose to submit pictures, namely, people, perspective, nature, architecture, and product. For each category, you are allowed to submit just one photo. Each year, the competition has a theme, which all the photos are encouraged to be connected to somehow. This year, the theme is Fantastic Photography! Our study association has been accepted to participate in the largest relay race 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ in the world! The race will take place on the 28th and 29th of April of 2023, and will take us 185 km from Nijmegen to Enschede. To cover this large distance, we are searching for 25 participants to run with us! The event will come to a conclusion on Saturday night with one of the largest student parties 🎉 in Europe that can have over 10.000 visitors!

Would you like to learn how to play the fantastic game of golf together with a group of fellow students, and 2 data scientists from InIn? Then make sure to sign up for the InIn Golf Clinic on the 24th of April!

During this activity, you'll be taught how to golf by 2 professional golf coaches! The clinic itself will take 2 hours and you'll be taught the basics of golf. After we'll have a Pitch & Putt tournament!

After the clinic, we'll have a small drink together with some data scientists from InIn at the bar on the golf course. During this drink, you'll get 2 free drinks and we'll also be offering some snacks! The drink will last until 18:00.

The stadium is home to the iconic Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven!

The guided tour will take us through the players' entrance, dressing rooms and through the tunnel to the pitch. We will also see special places, including the post-match press conference area, executive boxes and hospitality seats!

The world is full of uncertainties. These uncertain factors make life dynamic, unsure and unpredictable. These forces make it hard to invest wisely. Luckily, there is data! Analyzing data correctly will give you the power to state an interest rate as reliable. And a.s.r. loves reliability!

So, if you are planning to invest in government bonds, what makes the interest rates of these bonds reliable? To answer this key question, you will dive into the data of the German government's bonds interest rates over the last ten years. What are the features of a reliable interest rate? How do you visualize the behavior of an interest rate? How do you effectively classify interest rates?

So, this is your task: find reliable interest rates! You can pick the tooling you want. The team with the best analysis wins this competition!

The 22nd General Members Meeting is taking place on the 16th of January at Atlas -1.310.

The General Members Meeting is open for all Pattern Members and is the most formal event of the association where important decisions ⚖️ are made by Members, questions can be asked 🤔 and feedback can be given to the Board.
