Event Description — JADS MKB Datalab

About the session
JADS MKB Datalab is a Data & AI consultancy startup affiliated with JADS (a university in
’s-Hertogenbosch founded by TU/e and Tilburg University). Since our founding 7.5 years ago, we have completed over 420 projects for more than 200 organisations together with 160+ student consultants. During this interactive 2.5-hour session, we introduce first-year Bachelor Data Science students to what working as a Data & AI consultant looks like in practice — not only through stories, but also by experiencing it themselves.

What we are going to do
We combine an inside look into our day-to-day practice with a hands-on case study. A former MKB Datalab student consultant will share their experiences working on projects with us. Afterwards, participants will work in groups on a business case that we previously solved for a real client. No technical background knowledge is required — the focus is on problem analysis, reasoning, and decision-making.

What students can expect and learn

• A realistic view of what Data & AI consultancy involves in practice
• How a consultant approaches a business problem: from problem analysis to solution strategy
• Stories from alumni who followed the same degree program and now work on real projects
• Concrete information on how they themselves can take part in projects through JADS MKB Datalab
