Data Science Association Pattern was founded on the 12th of May 2017 and is the study association for over 900 students. D.S.A Pattern is the study association for all students of:

• Joint Bachelor in Data Science (JBDS) at Tilburg University (TiU) and Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)
• Master Data Science in Business and Entrepreneurship (DSBE) at Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS)
• Master Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI) at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)
• Mastertrack Data Science in Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)

The Social Cohesion pillar focuses on bringing its members together to have a fun time. We welcome the first-year students at the introduction camp and continue with countless events like the annual Pattern Weekend and gala, the monthly parties, the weekly and biweekly drinks, sports tournaments, and games nights. Several committees organize these activities, among which is the Kickstart Committee composed entirely of first-year students to introduce them to being an active member.

The Educational Support pillar focuses on supporting members during their studies. We organize round table discussions with teachers to improve the quality of the study ,share course summaries, organize study sessions on campus during exam weeks, and host information sessions about Data Science masters. These activities are led by the Board’s Education Officer and the Education Committee.

The Career Development pillar focuses on giving its members a jumpstart of their career as a Data Scientist. We help members find their perfect career path by introducing them to the numerous companies that deploy Data Science. We organize both major events such as symposiums, company fairs, datathons, and international study trips, as well as more low-key lunch lectures by companies. These activities are led by the Board’s External Affairs Officer and several committees.
